April TIDZ exports at EUR 300 million

Skopje, 11 May 2024 (MIA) - Companies in the Technological Industrial Development Zones (TIDZ) realized exports of EUR 300 million in April 2024, which is an 8 percent increase over April 2023, and a 21 percent increase compared to April 2022, the Directorate for Technological Industrial Development Zones said on Saturday.
The Directorate’s regular analysis shows that exports in the first four months of the year stand at over EUR 1.12 billion.
“Imports have also recorded a stable growth, which is at EUR 270 million in April, up by 10 percent compared to April 2023 and 9 percent compared to April 2022. As of April, the total imports have reached over EUR 1 billion,” the Directorate said.
It added that the number of jobs in the zones is also growing and is currently roughly 18.100.
“This is 8 percent more than April 2023, and 25 percent more than April 2022. Over the past seven years, roughly 12.000 new jobs have been created just in the TIDZ, compared to almost 6.300 by 2016. As of March, the average gross wage has exceeded EUR 1100,” the Directorate underlined.
