Skopje, 21 October 2023 (MIA) - The National Bank is committed to the harmonization of national regulations and practices with the EU law, whereas cooperation with institutions from the Federal Republic of Germany is of enormous significance, agreed Governor Anita Angelovska-Bezhoska and German Ambassador Petra Drexler on Saturday.

Over the years, the National Bank and the Deutsche Bundesbank have established fruitful cooperation, including support for strengthening of the institutional capacities through enhancement of analytical tools and policies and by transferring the best international and European standards to national practices, the central bank said in a press release.

It adds that the European Commission annual report has assessed that the National Bank's monetary policies are highly aligned with European regulations, as is the banking field. Nevertheless, European regulations are continually enhanced and it is required to keep pace with these novelties.

The National Bank is also actively engaged in the development and implementation of regular economic reform programmes and other strategic documents related to the country's EU integration, reads the press release.
