Angelovska-Bezhoska and Radev highlight ongoing good cooperation between the National Bank and Bulgarian Central Bank

Skopje, 15 July 2024 (MIA) – During her working visit to Bulgaria, the Governor of the National Bank of North Macedonia, Anita Angelovska-Bezoska, and the Governor of the Bulgarian National Bank, Dimitar Radev, addressed current economic issues in the European Union and the challenges that regional countries face in maintaining price and financial stability.

At the meeting, both governors underscored that banking systems of both countries have demonstrated solid performance and relatively high resilience to external shocks during the recent period of crises, as reported by the National Bank.

The governors pointed out that while the current monetary policy stance is appropriate, ongoing careful monitoring of inflationary trends is necessary.

"During the meeting, both governors also emphasized that the professionalism and independence of central banks are of utmost importance for maintaining price and financial stability in their countries," reads the press release.

Angelovska-Bezhoska and Radev express commitment to deepening cooperation and sharing experiences on central bank challenges in the context of uncertain macroeconomic environment and geopolitical risks.
