Skopje, 3 August 2024 (MIA) - Forty wildfires were registered on Friday in the country, nine of which are still active, five are under control, and 26 have been put out, said the head of the Crisis Management Center (CMC) Stojanche Angelov on Saturday.

According to Angelov there are currently active fires in the Municipality of Makedonski Brod between the villages of Tazhevo, Breznika and towards Jasen; in the Municipality of Probishtip near the villages of Zelenigrad and Jamishte, as well as near the village of Dolno Barbarevo; in the Municipality of Plasnica between the villages of Plasnica and Latovo; in the Municipality of Demir Hisar and Ohrid on Ilinska Mountain; in the Municipality of Zelenikovo between Smesnica, Strahojadica and Gradovci; in the Municipality of Ohrid between Kosel, Volino and Openica; in the Municipality of Studenichani near the village of Vrekjica; as well as in the Municipality of Novo Selo near the village of Badilen.
