Amendments to nine laws on motorway sections on Monday's agenda in Parliament

Skopje, 10 April 2023 (MIA) - The amendments to nine laws related to the motorway sections that are to be constructed by the US-Turkish consortium Bechtel and Enka are on the agenda of the Parliament's 112th session scheduled for Monday. All amendments are to follow a fast track procedure, as proposed by a group of MPs from the ruling majority.  

 

The session's agenda also includes amendments to laws on agricultural land, expropriation, urban planning, construction, etc. The last item of the agenda includes the amendments to the law on public interest and nominating a strategic partner in implementing the project for the construction of Corridor 8 (Tetovo-Gostivar-Bukojchani section and Trebenistha-Struga-Kjafasan) and Corridor 10d (Prilep-Bitola section), in a fast track procedure. 

 

In addition to its 112th session, the Parliament on Monday is to resume seven other sessions, which include among other items the 2021 annual report on the work of the anti-corruption commission, draft amendments to the law on labor relations, several draft-laws on ratification of agreements, including on ratification of the agreement between North Macedonia and Serbia for establishing cultural and information centers in Belgrade and in Skopje, a draft plan for 2016-2030 Pelister National Park, amendments to the law on indebtedness of the Republic of North Macedonia with a loan from the EBRD upon a loan agreement for funding the project on construction of a new section and reconstruction of the current section Beljakovce - Kriva Palanka - eastern part of the railway line of Corridor 8, phase 2, a draft law amending the Criminal Code, a draft law on ratification of amendments to the free trade agreement between the Republic of Macedonia and Ukraine, a draft law on declaring Canyon Matka a monument of nature, etc.
