Skopje, 17 February 2023 (MIA) – Members of the working group comprised of expert advisors of the Prime Minister, representatives of the Health Insurance Fund, the Ministry of Health, the pharmaceutical industry as well as of the Cystic Fibrosis Association defined Friday draft amendments to the law on procurement of all medicaments of this type, including Trikafta drug, the government said in a press release.

“After presenting their views regarding the draft amendments, the experts at today's meeting promptly aligned the draft law on medicines and medical devices and the law on health insurance which define the type of procedure to be carried out, based on concluded contracts for the procurement of the drug, which will ensure more favorable prices,” the government said in a press release, adding that this would make it possible to directly negotiate procuring patented drugs produced by a manufacturer for cystic fibrosis patients.
