All documents related to my son's Washington trip to be submitted to SCPC: PM

Skopje, 22 July 2024 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski says he will take responsibility if there is even a slight doubt over his son's recent trip to Washington as his companion at the NATO summit.

"The State Commission for Prevention of Corruption is investigating the case. All required documents will be submitted tomorrow. I am prepared to take responsibility even if there is a slight doubt. If not, SCPC is a relevant institution, we politicians cannot make judgments, and they will have to apologize," Mickoski told Telma.

He noted that the NATO invitation provided the option for a companion, who he insisted on paying from his own pocket.

Regarding the first-class ticket to Washington, considering that a former Tourism Agency director was forced to resign for flying first class, the PM says he would rather want Macedonia to have a decent aircraft so these services are not used at all.

"The country has been robbed of an entire fleet. I flew first class from Vienna to Washington and New York to Vienna because of a health issue with my knees, and economy from Skopje to Vienna and back," says Mickoski.
