All casualties in Croatia bus crash are Polish citizens, says Polish foreign Ministry

Zagreb, 6 August 2022 (MIA) – All casualties in the accident of a Polish bus near Breznički Hum in Croatia are Polish Citizens, Polish Press Agency PAP reports citing Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  

“At this point we can confirm that,” said spokesperson of the Polish foreign ministry, adding that the bus had Warsaw license plates.   Twelve people were killed and over 30 suffered injuries in the accident that took place on the A4 highway near Breznički Hum in Croatia at around 5:40 am on Saturday, when a bus carrying pilgrims travelling to the pilgrimage site of Medjugorje skidded off the road and landed in a ditch.   After the tragic accident in Croatia, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said he had sent health minister Adam Niedzielski and deputy foreign minister Marcin Przydacz to the site of the accident alongside medical staff and psychologists, PAP reports.   Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić Radman offered condolences to their Polish counterparts and the families of the victims and wished for speedy recovery of the injured.   “Croatian people stand in solidarity with Poland and its citizens,” Grlić Radman posted on Twitter.
