Skopje, 19 December 2022 (MIA) – All necessary checks were conducted concluding that all bomb threats received via email on Monday afternoon by Skopje schools, including two primary schools and fourteen high schools, were a hoax, said the Ministry of Interior.
Right after the threats were reported to the police, it adds, police officers took measures to safely evacuate the buildings. Anti-terrorist squads carried out detailed checks and the bomb threats were proved to be false.
The security situation is stable and there are no real threats to the safety of the citizens, concluded the Council for the Coordination of Security and Intelligence Services at Monday’s meeting held after frequent reports of bomb threats in the country.
A decision was made at the meeting to set up a task force on cybersecurity and hybrid threats.
In addition to schools, many facilities, including institutions, shopping malls, hotels, as well as the Skopje Airport have been targeted by bomb scares as of late. All bomb threats were proved to be false.
