Ohrid, 26 August 2023 (MIA) — Italy's Alessio Occhipinti and France's Caroline Jouisse are the winners of the 36th Ohrid Swimming Marathon.

Occhipinti finished the 25-km race in 4 hours 53 minutes 14 seconds, setting a new Ohrid marathon record. Jouisse crossed the finish line after 5 hours 5 minutes 59 seconds.

President Stevo Pendarovski greeted the winners at the finish and handed them laurel wreaths. Ohrid Mayor Kiril Pecakov also extended his congratulations.

The Ohrid Swimming Marathon prize fund is EUR 12,000, distributed to the first three swimmers in both categories.

The competition is organized by the Municipality of Ohrid with the support of the Agency for Youth and Sports and the Macedonian Swimming Federation. mr/
