AJM and Goethe-Institut Skopje present media content of social character
Skopje, 4 October 2022 (MIA) – Media articles and multimedia products of social character aimed at encouraging topics of public interest and cooperation between the journalistic community, were presented Tuesday by the Association of Journalists of Macedonia (AJM) in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut Skopje. The presented media content was produced in cooperation between journalists and monitored by the three-member jury panel consisting of Aneta Dodevska, Filjana Koka and Teofil Blazhevski. Aleksandra Maksimovsk, MIA correspondent, and Suzana Andonovikj from the “Boom” radio station presented a topic concerning the discrimination of Roma women, Boban Jovanovikj from radio station “Most” and Magdalena Stojanovikj from TV Sonce worked on the topic of resocialization of former prisoners, Aleksandra Ristevska, a TV Alfa journalist, and Violeta Kozhinkova from TV 24 presented a topic named “Eastern Macedonia Villages Left Penniless”, while Teodora Cvetkovska from “Pina” and Daniel Vasilev from “360 Stepeni” focused on people with disabilities. The President of the AJM, Mladen Chadikovski, stated that these stories are proof of the networking between the journalists and the newsrooms. “Networking is really important for the entire journalistic community, because joint action brings greater results. The majority of the topics had a social character and covered issues concerning society’s perceptions of people’s personal lives. We know that there are various issues, but because of different reasons we cannot give them the full attention they deserve. These often-invisible people in our surroundings, in the absence of institutional action can only get a voice through the journalists,” said Chadikovski. He added that the topics touch upon many layers of society and informed that initiatives such as this will continue to be organized in the future. Katrin Ostwald-Richter, head of the Goethe-Institut Skopje, expressed her satisfaction by the content produced as part of the initiative and underscored that the media is responsible for documenting the social issues in the country and because of that, it plays a crucial role in society. ad/nn/
