Skopje, 3 October 2024 -- Let's try this humor and see what comes of it, Democratic Union for Integration leader Ali Ahmeti said in response to Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski saying Thursday he had expected "this type of humor and satire" to end with DUI going into opposition, when asked to comment on DUI's request for government vetting.

Ahmeti said the vetting law had been proposed four years ago. He called for including Brussels and Washington representatives in the vetting process.

"Let's see what comes of this humor. I'm not making Hollywood movies. I'm not a Hollywood screeenwriter. He is welcome to. Let's make all of them," Ahmeti told the press while visiting the State University of Tetovo on Thursday.

The DUI leader also said a probe should be launched into the country's privatization in the 1990s.

PM Mickoski, answering reporter's questions after his visit to Skopje's Idadija Polyclinic, said he had thought DUI's "type of humor and satire ended when DUI went into opposition."

"It's all right," Mickoski said. "We'll listen to this type of humor and satire in the coming days, and we'll see where they end up, as a political party." mr/
