Ademi: Smooth voting process, European Front to witness historic victory

Tetovo, 8 May 2024 (MIA) - The head of the European Front’s campaign staff, Arber Ademi, at a press conference Wednesday after the closure of polling stations in the presidential and parliamentary elections said the election day proceeded smoothly and without incidents. He condemned what he called the oppositions attempts at “propaganda, fake news and disinformation”.

“The European Front will witness a historic victory at this national referendum that will seal the country’s European future. There isn't and there won’t be going back, because the will of the citizens is above all. On April 24 and today, the people said their part and the European Front will always remain loyal to the will of the voters. Tonight, victory is ours, and it belongs to all of you who said ‘no’ to Russia and ‘yes’ to Europe. Just as it was today, the active participation of the citizens in the political processes will be decisive for the future promotion of democracy in North Macedonia,” Ademi said.

Asked if he personally voted at the presidential elections, Ademi said he didn’t, but named several DUI officials who did.

“We let our supporters decide independently. If we were to draw a comparison between the turnout in the presidential and parliamentary elections, we would conclude that there is a small difference, but it’s not that significant. There were European Front supporters who expressed their will at the presidential elections. [DUI] leader [Ali] Ahmeti voted today, Prime Minister [Talat] Xhaferi voted today, the Foreign Minister... The citizens were free to decide whether to vote or not,” Ademi said.
