Adem Chuchulj elected new anti-corruption commission president

Skopje, 3 December 2025 (MIA) - At a session Wednesday, Parliament elected Adem Chuchulj as the new President of the State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption (SCPC). Chuchulj received the support of all 82 MPs that cast their vote.

VMRO-DPMNE MP Gjorgjija Sajkoski urged the MPs to back the candidate, noting that “Chuchulj can really strengthen the capacities and the reputation of the SCPC”.

Chuchulj is a law graduate with a passed bar exam and the current Secretary General of the Commission, where he has worked for 19 years. He received the highest score from Parliament’s committee tasked with selecting a candidate – 96.5 points. According to the evaluation, Chuchulj demonstrated significant experience in preventing corruption and conflicts of interest, as well as a clear vision and concrete plan for the work and development of the SCPC.

The announcement for the election of a new president was published this summer, but the procedure was interrupted due to the local elections. Out of a total of 13 applicants, 10 were selected.

Chuchulj takes the position of Tatjana Dimitrovska, who resigned due to charges in the “Additive” case for disclosing an official secret and unlawfully obtaining a classified information certificate.
