AA schedules weekend assembly amid party turmoil

Skopje, 6 February 2024 (MIA) - The Alliance for Albanians (AA) has scheduled the party's assembly on Saturday, with political developments ahead of the presidential and parliamentary elections and AA's decision of last October regarding its positioning at the upcoming polls on the agenda.

The scheduling of the assembly comes after AA leader Arben Taravari urged the party over the weekend to join the opposition parties of ethnic Albanians for the coming elections.

Afterwards, AA assembly chairman and former leader Ziadin Sela said he was against the decision, noting that the party should run alone at the elections, whereas party structures should take the final decision.

Disagreements among AA members have escalated over the past couple of days, with Agency for Management of Confiscated Property director Driton Nebiu being attacked, while an unspent bullet was left at the doorstep of Taravari's home.
