Skopje, 13 December 2024 (MIA) - The European Union’s Ambassador to North Macedonia, Michalis Rokas, told journalists Friday that enlargement is a top priority of the European Union and efforts are being made to implement the process of reforms in the country and move ahead as fast as possible.
“There are a lot of diplomatic activities at this moment around this issue. As you know the Prime Minister was already in Brussels to meet with the EU leadership, there is the Western Balkans Summit next week, on December 18, it will be another visit to Brussels. I think the EU has made it clear that enlargement is a top priority, and that includes North Macedonia. The new [EU] leadership is putting a lot of effort to facilitate the country and we, as the EU delegation, are here to help implement all the necessary reforms to get to this end and to go quickly and seize this moment of opportunity. Therefore, any support or any extensive diplomatic efforts to move ahead as fast as possible are very welcome,” Rokas told journalists.
