57 new COVID-19 cases, four deaths: PHI

Skopje, 17 September 2024 (MIA) – The number of recorded COVID-19 cases between September 9-15 stands at 57, which is a 48.6 percent drop in cases compared to the previous week, the Public Health Institute (PHI) said in its report released Tuesday.

Cases were recorded in 8 cities, of the people who tested and reported their coronavirus infections the largest number (39 or 68.4 percent) were from Skopje.

Cases have been reported in all age groups, but the largest number of reported infections are people aged 60 and older.

Four people died as a result of the virus, aged 70+ and unvaccinated, from Skopje (2), Tetovo (1) and Bitola (1). Three died in hospitals and three have registered comorbidities.

A total of 1.560 COVID-19 cases and 20 deaths were registered during 2024, through 15.09.2024. Since the first confirmed case on February 26, 2020, according to PHI data, a total of 351,876 confirmed cases and 9,999 deaths from COVID-19 have been officially reported. ssh/sk/
