2021 SPE to end with Bridges international poetry reading
Skopje, 29 August 2021 (MIA) – The 60th edition of the Struga Poetry Evenings international festival is set to end on Sunday evening with the Bridges international poetry reading and the Miladinov Brothers and Bridges of Struga award ceremony. The 2021 SPE is held under special pandemic protocols. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 2021 festival laureate, British poet Carol Ann Duffy, is not attending the festival to receive her Golden Wreath. She read her poetry and addressed the festival via videolink. About 30 poets are taking part in the festival, some attending in person, while others reading via videolink. On Sunday, they will visit Vevchani and the Vevchani Springs. As part of Saturday’s festival program, Macedonian writer Vladimir Martinovski presented the "Macedonian Poetic Constellation" in honor of Georgi Stardelov. The SPE also hosted on Saturday an even in honor of Macedonian poet Bogomil Gjuzel, which was addressed by the festival’s Board of Directors President Elizabeta Sheleva
