Skopje, 16 December 2025 (MIA) - SDSM leader Venko Filipche has said that the party's new leadership will be elected on Tuesday, after the resignation of the top brass earlier this month.

The new leadership will be elected at today's session of the party's Central Board. Filipche has told 360 Degrees that the new members will include both experienced and young individuals. Aleksandar Dimitrijevikj will continue to serve as secretary-general, with Aleksandar Trajanovski, the candidate for Aerodrom mayor at the recent local elections, will be one of the party's vice-presidents.

"One of the biggest challenges when compiling a team is to ensure it is a mix of experience and youth. This challenge is not only valid for politics but all walks of life - a change of generations. The experienced will know they have not been forgotten and that the door is always open for them to pass on their knowledge," said Filipche.

Asked why he was the only one not to resign after the local elections, the SDSM leader said the fact that he assumed the post not long ago weighed into the decision.
