Strumica, 19 October 2024 (MIA) -- The situation in agriculture is a disaster, which was left for us to handle, but from July 26 through Nov. 18 we will have paid more than Mden 1.3 billion in subsidies to over 20,000 farmers, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said in the Strumica village of Novo Selo on Saturday.

He was attending the 2024 Smolarski Chestnut festival and announced that agricultural subsidies would continue in 2025 as well.

"Let me remind you we offered an exceptionally good price to grape growers, winegrowers. Also to plum growers. We introduced special measures for barley and wheat growers and the apple situation is excellent at the moment," Mickoski said. mr/
