Skopje, 14 April 2026 (MIA) — Izabela Jakimova's new theater play "A Flag and a Suitcase" will premiere at the Cultural and Information Center's Salon 19:19 at 8 pm. 

A production of Theater for You company, the play was directed by Jakimova, who also stars in the duodrama. She will be joined on stage by Nenad Mitevski. The production also features the voices of Goce Andonov, Sara Tomevska and Mihail Velkov.

According to producers, "A Flag and a Suitcase" is a satirical exploration of political division, existential uncertainty and migration. Through dynamic dialogue and dark humor, the play deconstructs the irony of patriotism, clientelism and party affiliation.

The story follows Marina and Petar, a young couple with opposing ideological views, who need to decide whether to remain in their homeland or emigrate following an election.

The title refers to the characters' conflict: the choice between the "flag," representing identity and belonging, and the "suitcase," representing departure and the hope for a better life. mr/
